Short description

The trojan serves as a backdoor. It can be controlled remotely. The trojan is usually a part of other malware.


When executed, the trojan copies itself into the following location:

  • %localappdata%\­Adobe\­adobeupdate.dll

The trojan creates copies of the following files (source, destination):

  • %currentfolder%\­%malwarefilenamewithoutextension%32.exe, %localappdata%\­Adobe\­adobeupdate32.exe

The following Registry entry is set:

  • [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\­Software\­Microsoft\­Windows NT\­CurrentVersion\­Windows]
    • "Load" = "%originalvalue%, %localappdata%\­Adobe\­adobeupdate32.exe"

The following files are deleted:

  • %currentfolder%\­%malwarefilenamewithoutextension%32.exe
Information stealing

Win32/Fovidix.C is a trojan that steals sensitive information.

The trojan collects the following information:

  • operating system version
  • information about the operating system and system settings
  • memory status
  • CPU information
  • user name
  • computer name
  • network adapter information
  • computer IP address

The trojan attempts to send gathered information to a remote machine.

The trojan acquires data and commands from a remote computer or the Internet. The HTTP, HTTPS protocol is used.

It can execute the following operations:

  • download files from a remote computer and/or the Internet
  • run executable files
  • update itself to a newer version
  • uninstall itself
  • execute shell commands
  • send the list of disk devices and their type to a remote computer
  • send the list of files on a specific drive to a remote computer
  • delete files
  • move files
  • create folders
  • send requested files
