Short description

The trojan serves as a backdoor. It can be controlled remotely.

Installation

When executed, the trojan copies itself into the following location:

  • %temp%\­vmaspol.exe

In order to be executed on every system start, the trojan sets the following Registry entry:

  • [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\­Software\­Microsoft\­Windows\­CurrentVersion\­Run]
    • "RUN" = "%temp%\­vmaspol.exe"

The following Registry entries are created:

  • [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\­Software\­Microsoft\­Windows\­CurrentVersion]
    • "IP" = "%variable1%"
    • "TIME" = "%variable2%"

A string with variable content is used instead of %variable1-2% .

Other information

The trojan checks for Internet connectivity by trying to connect to the following addresses:

  • www.google.com

The trojan acquires data and commands from a remote computer or the Internet.


The trojan contains a list of (2) URLs. The HTTP protocol is used.


It can execute the following operations:

  • download files from a remote computer and/or the Internet
  • run executable files
  • terminate running processes
  • send files to a remote computer
  • create Registry entries
  • delete Registry entries
  • remove itself from the infected computer

The trojan may create the following files:

  • %temp%\­%variable3%

A string with variable content is used instead of %variable3% .
