Short description

The trojan serves as a backdoor. It can be controlled remotely.

Installation

When executed, the trojan creates the following files:

  • %windir%\­InstallUtil.exe (28672 B)
  • %appdata%\­taskmng.exe (72192 B, MSIL/Zetbo.A)

The following file is dropped:

  • %appdata%\­WinPowerService.exe (36864 B, MSIL/Zetbo.A)

The trojan registers file as a system service.


The trojan may create the following files:

  • %internetcache%\­Recep_Tayyip_Erdoğan_Atar_Yapıyor.exe (8638563 B)
  • %localappdata%\­Recep_Tayyip_Erdoğan_Atar_Yapıyor.exe (8638563 B)

The files are then executed.


The trojan executes the following commands:

  • cmd /c InstallUtil.exe %appdata%\­WinPowerService.exe
  • cmd /c net start winpwrmng
Information stealing

MSIL/Zetbo.A is a trojan that steals sensitive information.


The trojan collects the following information:

  • computer name
  • user name
  • volume serial number
  • computer IP address
  • operating system version

The trojan attempts to send gathered information to a remote machine.

Other information

The trojan acquires data and commands from a remote computer or the Internet.


The trojan contains a list of (7) URLs. The HTTP protocol is used.


It can execute the following operations:

  • update itself to a newer version
  • download files from a remote computer and/or the Internet
  • run executable files

The trojan sends HTTP requests to simulate clicks on banner advertisements, to inflate web counter statistics etc.


The trojan may turn off the computer.


The trojan may execute the following commands:

  • cmd /c shutdown /s /t 20 /c "Windows had to be closed. Windows Power Services is turned off."

The trojan attempts to delete the following files:

  • %appdata%\­WinPowerService.InstallLog
  • %appdata%\­InstallUtil.InstallLog
  • %currentfolder%\­WinPowerService.InstallLog
  • %currentfolder%\­InstallUtil.InstallLog

Trojan requires the Microsoft .NET Framework to run.
