Short description

Win32/SchwarzeSonne.BL serves as a backdoor. It can be controlled remotely.

Installation

When executed, the trojan copies itself into the following location:

  • %appdata%\­Microsoft\­Blend\­14.0\­FeedCache\­ScriptedSandbox.exe

The following file is dropped in the same folder:

  • xpsrchw.exe

The files are then executed.


The following Registry entries are created:

  • [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\­SOFTWARE\­Microsoft\­Windows NT\­CurrentVersion\­Windows]
    • "Load" = "cmd /c %malwarefilepath%"
  • [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\­Software\­Microsoft\­Windows\­CurrentVersion\­Run]
    • "AudioClient" = ""

The entry contains path to the executable of the %malwarefilepath% .

Information stealing

The trojan collects the following information:

  • computer name
  • user name
  • operating system version

The trojan is able to log keystrokes.


The collected information is stored in the following file:

  • dtmp1.tmp

The trojan can send the information to a remote machine.

Other information

The trojan acquires data and commands from a remote computer or the Internet.


The trojan contains a URL address. The TCP protocol is used in the communication.


It may perform the following actions:

  • download files from a remote computer and/or the Internet
  • run executable files
  • terminate running processes
  • send files to a remote computer
  • create files
  • move files
  • delete files
  • create folders
  • delete folders
  • start/stop services
  • execute shell commands
  • send the list of running processes to a remote computer
  • send the list of disk devices and their type to a remote computer
  • upload file list
  • create Registry entries
  • delete Registry entries
  • various Registry operations
  • manipulate application windows
  • log keystrokes
  • simulate user's input (clicks, taps)
  • set up a proxy server
  • capture screenshots
  • capture webcam video/voice
  • watch the user's screen content
  • update itself to a newer version
  • uninstall itself

The trojan may create the following files:

  • %appdata%\­%variable%

A string with variable content is used instead of %variable% .
